Dumon Style Silicone Stents
Dumon style silicone stents are made out of implantable silicone which is coated to ensure non-adherence. Special studs prevent migration by imbedding themselves slightly into the airway mucosa, yet still allow for collateral ventilation between the stent and the airway wall. Dumon style silicone stents have beveled ends to maximize airflow and prevent granulation tissue from forming. These stents are designed to be removable, and thus they can safely be used for both malignant and benign diseases.
