DJ Fistula Stents

DJ-Fistula Stents™ are cufflink-shaped silicone prostheses for the palliation of malignant tracheobronchial-esophageal fistulas. Stents are made out of implantable, radiopaque, medical-grade silicone and are FDA approved for use beyond 30 days. DJ-Fistula Stents™ offer several advantages over other stents used for tracheobronchial-esophageal fistulas such as; eight different sizes, offering a customized fit; mushroom top design that seals the fistula from the tracheal side; and an axis which blocks the passage between the trachea and esophagus. The ellipse design on the esophageal side allows for easy deployment of the stent into the fistula from the trachea, by simply using a rigid bronchoscope and grasping forceps. DJ-Fistula Stents™ have a very small contact area with the tissue which minimizes the risk for potential complications.
